The out(fit) Outreach Truck involves the fit-out of a mobile trailer or truck that will be converted into several configurations and spaces. The Outreach Truck will provide opportunities to interact with and learn about the built environment throughout regional nsw.
Similar to the multi-purpose Farm Truck by Alive Architecture (precedent), this project aims to provide a creative hub for people to discuss and raise awareness about issues relating to their built environment. The trailer will also provide opportunities for collaboration, community engagement as well as promote design and possibilities for underrepresented areas of our community
We are excited to announce that we have received a $123 000 grant from the very generous Newcastle Permanent Charitable Fund to build and operate the truck!
This allows us to expand our work and help us improve the built environment for those who live and work in areas of disadvantage.

Sharing travel characteristics to those of food trucks, the out(fit) Outreach Truck will journey to various locations bringing out(fit) to regional communities and numerous festival events. It will metaphorically and literally be a nomadic site with an outreach and engagement program. The interactive traveling ‘menu’ will include exhibitions showcasing university students’ work as well as highlighting female practitioners, hands-on workshops, community forums, probing design consultation and school tours.
