Warlga Ngurra Community Centre

Each year Warlga Ngurra assists hundreds of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members through the delivery of vital services.

This project improved the outdoor area and space of the centre in order to facilitate the expansion of existing programs, reflecting the centres commitment to education and understanding of land protection, water conservation and environmental issues.

The out(fit) Outreach Trailer is a mobile and multi-purpose creative hub that allows our team to deliver flexible design support, resources and education throughout the Newcastle and Hunter Region.

Convertible and portable, our trailer facilitates community collaboration, engagement and design possibilities for underrepresented regional groups.

Aspect + St Kevin’s

Aspect at St Kevin’s provides specialised autism education via satellite.

out(fit) helped to create a student-centred, design masterplan for the Aspect space that all students could access and enjoy. With specific needs of the students in mind, our project included a sensory play board, blackboard, concrete floor games and accessible bench spaces.

St Dominics Centre

St Dominic’s Centre is a catholic school that caters for students from kindergarten to year 10. Prior to 2018, the enrolment criteria included moderate cognitive delay and deaf or hard of hearing. In 2018, St Dominic’s accepted the first cohort of kindergarten students with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.

out(fit) was engaged to assist in preparing a conceptual landscape plan, upgrading the facilities to better cater for and address the needs of their students.
